Resolving Excessive Discount Amount Errors on Tickets

What This Means

This error occurs because the discount amount exceeds the ticket total. The system cannot apply a discount that is larger than the subtotal of the items being purchased.  

How to Fix It

To apply a valid discount and update the transaction total, follow these exact steps:

  1. Review subtotal: Check the total subtotal for the current ticket.
  2. Adjust discount: Enter a discount amount that is equal to or less than the subtotal.
  3. Apply changes: Proceed with the transaction once the adjusted discount has been entered.
