How to Resolve the "User Is Logged In on a Different Device" Error

What This Means

This error occurs when someone signs into the exact same user account on another register or device while a active session is already running on your current terminal. Based on system parameters, concurrent single-user logins are restricted to prevent transaction overwrites, audit trail conflicts, and unauthorized access across multiple stations.

How to Fix It

Please perform the following steps to release the active lock and restore access to your register:

Step 1: Log Out of the Secondary Device

  • Identify the secondary terminal where the account is currently active and perform a manual log out to release the account session.

Step 2: Re-authenticate on Your Current Terminal

  • Return to your primary terminal, re-enter your credentials, and log in again to establish a new primary session.

Still Need Help?

If you have logged out of all alternate devices but the system continues to report that the user is logged in elsewhere, please reach out to our support team to force-terminate active background sessions.
