Unable to Close/Edit Cash Drawer
What This Means
This issue occurs when a user is blocked from editing or closing out a cash drawer session on the POS. Based on system parameters, this restriction is typically caused by uncompleted transactions or open orders still tied to the current drawer session, pending payments awaiting finalization, a lack of administrative permissions assigned to the user account, or a localized software glitch on the terminal.
How to Fix It
Please perform the following verification steps to resolve the cash drawer lock:
Step 1: Complete Active Transactions
- Verify that all transactions and tickets for the shift are fully completed.
Step 2: Scan for Associated Open Orders
- Check the system for any remaining open orders or pending payments that are directly linked to the cash drawer.
Step 3: Verify Management Permissions
- Confirm that the user account attempting the action has the correct user permissions enabled for cash drawer management.
Step 4: Power Cycle the Terminal
- Refresh or restart the POS terminal to clear out any temporary device glitches.
