KDS Post-Fulfillment Bug Error
What This Means
This issue occurs when completed or fulfilled orders unexpectedly re-appear in the active kitchen queue on the Kitchen Display System (KDS). Based on system parameters, this behavior is typically caused by active visual filtering toggles that display past orders, an enabled retrospective view load configuration, a corrupted local application cache, or duplicate item modifications fired from the front-of-house (FOH) after the initial ticket was closed.
How to Fix It
Please perform the following verification and recovery steps to clean up the KDS queue:
Step 1: Check Active Filter Toggles
- Open the KDS filters menu and verify if the Show fulfilled orders or Show Multiview tickets toggles are enabled. Turn them off if you only want to see active, pending orders.
Step 2: Disable Retrospective View Loads
- Ensure that the option for Recently fulfilled orders is disabled in the settings to prevent older tickets from reloading onto the screen.
Step 3: Clear App Cache and Database Storage
- Navigate to the device settings, clear the KDS app cache, and wipe the local database storage to completely reset and sync the visual queue state.
Step 4: Audit Front-of-House Tickets
- Check the originating ticket on the POS to see if duplicate items or identical add-on structures were inadvertently fired from the front-of-house after the initial check was completed.
Still Need Help?
