System Lagging
What This Means
This issue occurs when one or more POS terminals experience slow performance, delays, or responsiveness lag. Based on system parameters, this behavior is typically caused by internet or network connectivity issues, resource strain from unnecessary applications, outdated software versions, cached data build-up, or an isolated hardware glitch.
How to Fix It
Please perform the following verification steps to diagnose and resolve the system lag:
Step 1: Check the Network Connection
- Verify that the internet or local network is fully connected on the affected device or devices.
Step 2: Power Cycle the Terminal
- Restart the affected POS terminal or terminals to refresh the operating system.
Step 3: Manage Resource Usage
- Review the active device applications and close any unnecessary apps that may be running in the background.
Step 4: Determine the Scope of the Lag
- Verify whether the lag is affecting only one specific device or the entire system across the location.
Step 5: Check for Updates and Software Versions
- Look for pending POS software or system updates.
- To check your current version, go to the lock screen, tap the info icon, and review the listed APK version.
Step 6: Clear Cached Data
- Clear the cache on the device and test the system performance again to see if the issue persists.
