Unable to Declare tips

What This Means

 If you are unable to enter or record your tips at the end of a shift, it usually means a step in the declaration workflow was skipped or the terminal requires a quick verification of your current shift status. To declare tips successfully, the employee must have an active, clocked-in session on that specific terminal. 

⚠️ Note:  Always double-check your total before tapping confirm. Declaring tips accurately ensures your daily cash drop matches the system logs and prevents discrepancy flags during the nightly audit. 

How to fix it:

Follow these steps to access and submit your tip declaration through the employee dashboard:

  • Step 1: Access the Employee Dashboard Open the main POS menu and select the Employee Dashboard view.
  • Step 2: Verify Active Shift Status Before proceeding, look at the status indicator to confirm the employee is currently clocked in. If they are clocked out, the tip option will be greyed out or inaccessible.
  • Step 3: Trigger the Tip Prompt On the active employee dashboard screen, locate and tap the Declare Tips button. This will launch the declaration pop-up window.
  • Step 4: Navigate to the Cash Section Inside the pop-up, locate the tab selection at the top and select the Cash Tips tab.
  • Step 5: Input the Total Amount Use the on-screen keypad to enter the exact amount of cash tips received.
  • Step 6: Review and Save Carefully review the numbers on the screen to ensure there are no typos. Once verified, tap Done. A confirmation banner reading "Tips Added Successfully" should appear.
  • Step 7: Audit the Entry To ensure the system registered the amount correctly, navigate to the Cash Drawer menu and check the live transaction/shift logs to verify the entry is listed.
