Orders Not Printing
What This Feature Does
This issue occurs when kitchen or prep station printers do not print incoming orders after they are placed through the POS, Online Ordering, or other ordering modules.
Common symptoms include:
- Orders appearing on POS but not printing in the kitchen
- Specific menu items are not printing
- Some stations receive tickets while others do not
- Kitchen printers remain idle despite successful orders
This usually happens when:
- Menu items are not assigned to the correct prep station
- Prep station settings are disabled for the item
- Changes were saved but not published
- The incorrect kitchen station is selected
How to fix it:
1. Open Menu Manager
- Log in to the Web Dashboard.
- Navigate to:
- Order & Pay
- Menu Manager
2. Open Item Settings
- Click on the Items tab.
- Locate the affected item.
- Click the 3-dot menu beside the item.
- Select Edit.
3. Verify Prep Station Assignment
- Scroll down to:
- Prep Stations & Time
- Check if the required prep station checkbox is selected.
Examples may include:
- Kitchen
- Bar
- Dessert Station
- Grill Station
Ensure the item is assigned to the correct station responsible for printing the order.
4. Save and Publish Changes
- Click Save
- Click Publish
5. Send a Test Order
- Place a test order containing the affected item.
- Verify whether the order prints successfully at the kitchen/prep station printer.
